We’ve been speaking a lot about racism here at MOOD due to the events taking place in the states right now. However, we’ve mainly been focusing on racism when it comes to police brutality and wrongful conviction. In Dave’s very touching song ‘Black’ he says ‘It’s workin’ twice as hard as the people you know you’re better than ‘Cause you need to do double what they do so you can level them.’ Meaning, it’s harder for black people to find success in comparison to white people because racism is holding them back. That being said, there is no better time than right now to ensure that we make change and celebrate the successes of black people by supporting the brands that they have worked extra hard to build. Here’s some amazing recommendations of some black owned businesses that deserve more attention.
